Hainanese Chicken Rice is a crowd-favourite and you can’t go wrong with it after a long day of exploring the resort. It’s a plate of soft steamed chicken, fragrant rice, chilli sauce, and ginger sauce. But now, we’re replacing our typical sauces with a fiery ginger-garlic sauce with the unmistakable kick of Mala. Definitely not for the faint hearted.
Price: RM 24. Add on RM4 for one drink (Luo Han Guo / Chrysanthemum / Sugar Cane)
If you haven’t tried Ikan Patin before, you have to because it boasts juicy meat and succulent flavours. Although one usually encounters the steamed versions, here we present it grilled on a banana leaf, which gives it an intense aroma. Playing with fire never tasted so good because we pair it with mantou, creamy peanut butter sauce, and of course, Mala sambal cecah sauce.
Price: RM 58. Purchase any soft drink at RM2.
The heat is on at Resorts World Genting.
