The well-known duo China Dolls is composed of Thai-Chinese singers Chen Guan Hua (Wawa) and Li Xiao Yan (Bell). They debuted in 1999, and their Thai-language hit “Muay Nee Kah” (หมวยนี่คะ), released the same year, swept across Thailand. In 2000, they released a Chinese version titled “Girls with Single Eyelids”, which took the Mandopop scene by storm. Later, they released the Mandarin version, which was launched in Taiwan, China, Singapore, and Malaysia, quickly rising to fame in the Chinese music world.
China Dolls’ musical style is light-hearted and lively, making them especially popular among younger listeners. Their songs are known for their cheerful tunes and singable lyrics, becoming one of the major representatives of Chinese pop music at the time.
Special guests Zhan Rong and Zhan Rui, who went solo after graduating from the popular YouTube group “This Group of People” (Zhe Qun Ren), are now making their mark in the music industry. Zhan Rui, rebranded as part of K.R Bros, has collaborated with China Dolls on two singles: “Sister Sister” and “So Hot”. These tracks mark K.R Bros’ debut in the EDM genre and also serve as commemorative works celebrating China Dolls’ 25th anniversary in the music industry.
