Situated in the mountains 3,100 feet above sea level, Resorts World Awana's 18-hole course is every avid golfer's paradise. Tee off in the cooling highlands air, which has an average temperature of 16 – 24 °C and experience a unique golfing experience unlike any in Malaysia. 

Located a short 40 minutes away from Kuala Lumpur, the hilly course is approximately 6,030 meters long, perfect for a brisk yet challenging course. 

The grounds are nestled within the protected biopark around Resorts World Awana, so golfers can immerse themselves in nature, with unforgettable views and even wildlife sightings, including Siamangs and exotic birds. 

We don’t just offer a place to swing on the green. It’s an invitation to come play in the embrace of nature. 

Dress code : Golf shoes, collared t-shirt, long or short pants/ skirts (ladies). Jeans are not allowed.

  • No play is permitted before the first Tee-off time.
  • A single player has no standing and shall give way to a flight of any kind and may be joined with others to form a full flight by the golf starter. 
  • Proper golfing attire is compulsory.
  • Unauthorized person is not allowed to accompany a golfer on the golf course.

Rest and relax at Resorts World Awana with a full suite of activities. Lounge by the pool at AYU Awana with a cup of coffee and freshly baked bread or head to the Golf Terrace for signature kopitiam specialties. 

If you’d like to do some shopping while you’re here, there are shuttle busses that will take you to Genting Highlands Premium Outlets where deals are available year-round. 

These Rules & Regulations apply to all golfers, hotel guests, Stay & Play package holders, tour groups, competition participants, and visitors utilising the golf facilities.

1. General Conduct & Behaviour

1.1 Courtesy & Etiquette

All players must conduct themselves in a courteous, respectful, and sportsmanlike manner at all times.
Abusive, offensive, loud, or disruptive behaviour towards players, caddies, staff, or resort guests is strictly prohibited.

1.2 Compliance with Instructions

Players must comply with all instructions issued by golf marshals, starters, and authorised personnel at all times.

1.3 Pace of Play

Maintaining the pace of play is mandatory.
• Players are expected to complete eighteen (18) holes within four (4) hours and twenty (20) minutes
• Slow groups may be instructed to allow play-through
• Players may be required to skip holes or cease play

Failure to comply may result in removal from the course without refund or compensation.

1.4 Smoking Policy

Smoking is permitted only at designated areas (e.g. tee boxes) and is prohibited elsewhere on the course.

2. Dress Code

Proper golfing attire is required at all times.

Permitted Attire:
• Collared golf shirts
• Golf trousers or tailored golf shorts
• Golf shoes with soft spikes    

Not Permitted:
• Singlets, tank tops, round-neck T-shirts
• Jeans, cargo pants, gym wear
• Slippers, sandals, or non-golf footwear

Thermal wear, windbreakers, and rain jackets are permitted.
Players who do not comply will be denied access to the course without refund or compensation.

3. Tee Times & Course Operations

3.1 Booking & Check-In

All play is strictly by advance tee time booking.
Players must report at the 1st or 10th tee at least fifteen (15) minutes prior to the scheduled tee time.

3.2 Official Tee Times

• Morning: 7:30 am – 9:45 am
• Afternoon: 12:30 pm – 2:15 pm

3.3 Operating Hours

The course operates from 7:30 am to 6:45 pm, subject to weather, safety, and operational conditions.

3.4 Flight & Play Management

Management reserves the right to:
• Group players into four-ball flights
• Adjust or reschedule tee times
• Restrict or modify play formats
• Cancel or suspend play due to operational, safety, or weather conditions

Late arrivals may result in forfeiture of the tee time without refund or compensation.

4. Course Etiquette & Care

4.1 Care of the Course

Players must:
• Repair ball marks on greens
• Repair divots and rake bunkers after use
• Replace flagsticks properly after use   

4.2 Golf Cart Policy

Golf carts must be operated safely and in accordance with all rules and staff instructions.
• Carts must remain on designated paths unless otherwise permitted
• Only golfers aged 18 years and above are permitted to operate golf buggies.

Misuse, reckless or unsafe driving of golf carts is strictly prohibited and may result in immediate removal from the course without refund or compensation. The Management shall not be liable for any injury, loss, or damage arising from improper or unauthorised use of golf buggies.

5. Safety, Hazards & Wildlife

5.1 Course Hazards

Players must exercise caution around:
• Water hazards and penalty areas
• Bunkers
• Slopes, valleys, uneven terrain, and other obstacles

Entry into water hazards or dangerous areas to retrieve balls is strictly prohibited.

5.2 Wildlife Awareness

As the course is located within a natural resort environment:
• Players must not approach, disturb, or feed wildlife
• Any wildlife sightings must be reported to golf staff immediately

6. Weather & Lightning Policy

Play must be suspended immediately during:
• Lightning or thunderstorms
• Heavy rain
• Unsafe fog or reduced visibility

Course-wide alerts (e.g. sirens) will be issued.

Failure to comply is at the Player’s own risk.

7. Caddies, Equipment & Handicap

7.1 Caddy Requirement

Caddies are compulsory unless otherwise approved by Management.
Failure to comply may result in refusal or removal from play without refund or compensation.

7.2 Equipment (Golf Clubs)

Sharing of golf clubs between players is strictly prohibited.  

7.3 Handicap Requirement

All players must possess a valid and recognised handicap.
Management reserves the right to verify handicaps and refuse play for non-compliance.

8. Special Play Formats & Restrictions

The following require prior Management approval:
• One-ball play
• Jumbo flights
• Nine-hole play
• Private or group events

Approval may be withdrawn at any time without refund or compensation.

9. Junior Players

• Must obtain prior approval from Management
• Must be accompanied by an adult at all times
• May be subject to additional conditions

Management reserves the right to refuse participation without refund or compensation.

10. Competitions, Events & Group Play

All competitions, corporate events, and group play must comply with approved formats, local rules, and operational requirements.

Any deviation may result in suspension or termination of play without refund or compensation.

11. Stay & Play Packages

• Valid for afternoon tee time sessions only
• Subject to advance booking, availability, and confirmation
• Must be declared as a Stay & Play booking at the time of reservation
• Play is permitted strictly in accordance with package terms

All Stay & Play packages are fully subject to these Rules & Regulations.

12. Guest Responsibility & Property Damage

Players, guests, tour operators, and event organisers shall be responsible for their conduct and any loss of or damage to club property

Tour agents and event organisers shall ensure their guests comply with these Rules and shall be fully accountable for any resulting damage or liability.

13. Environmental Responsibility

Players must:
• Refrain from littering
• Respect the natural environment
• Avoid disturbing wildlife and vegetation

14. Course Closure & No-Refund Policy

If the course is deemed unplayable due to weather, safety, or operational reasons:
• Play may be suspended or terminated
• No refunds, rain checks, carry-forwards, or compensation shall be provided unless expressly approved by Management

15. Disciplinary Measures

Any violation of these Rules, including misconduct, misuse of facilities, or failure to comply with pace-of-play requirements, may result in:
• Warning
• Suspension of play
• Immediate removal from the course

No refunds, credits, or compensation shall be granted.

16. Liability Disclaimer

Golf is played at the Player’s own risk.
Resorts World Awana shall not be liable for any personal injury, loss, or damage to personal property, except where required under applicable Malaysian law.

17. Management Rights & Final Authority

Management reserves the right, at its sole discretion, to:
• Interpret, enforce, and amend these Rules & Regulations
• Modify operations, bookings, access, or course usage at any time

All decisions by Management are final and binding.
