Frances Yip is a renowned songstress from Hong Kong. Yip debuted in the music industry in 1969 when she won the TVB Singing Night competition, and in 1980, Yip hit international fame with her signature tune “Shanghai Beach” from the TVB drama of the same title. With the popularity of the show, her fame has since spread all over the country. In 1999, the song "Shanghai Beach" was awarded the "Top Ten Golden Songs of the 20th Century" by Radio Television Hong Kong. Her voice was so rich and soaring that Yip’s performance brought out the emotions within this song to its fullest and henceforth became a big hit. In addition to "Shanghai Beach", she also sang many other songs such as "Hong Yan" and "Wan Ban Qing", becoming a powerful singer in the hearts of people. In addition to enjoying a high reputation in the Chinese world, her songs are also well-renowned internationally.

Maria Cordero is a Hong Kong singer, actress and TV host who is known for her soulful musical style, wide vocal range and exaggerated vocal tension. In 1998, at a newly opened discotheque, Cordero's singing career began after her singing abilities became widespread. She has her own cooking show Maria's Kitchen (Fat Mama’s Private Dishes), and is also active on her social media platforms - YouTube, Instagram, and Facebook.

Elisa Chan was one of Hong Kong's biggest stars during the 1980s and is best known for her duets with Leslie Cheung. Though she is primarily a Cantonese singer, she also sings in other languages including Mandarin, Japanese, English, and Tagalog. She began her singing career in the '70s, at age 16 and joined the New Topnotes, an English-language band. In the '80s Chan emerged as a solo star, although her duets with Leslie Cheung proved most popular. She remained active in later years, particularly as a live performer.
