• What is the objective of the GENM-SL1M Graduate Training Programme?

    The objective of this programme is to provide a career stepping stone for graduate trainees by equipping trainees with the necessary skills.

    Who can apply for this programme?

    Graduates from local or overseas universities and colleges who meet the criteria can apply.

    What are the general criteria to apply for the GENM-SL1M?

    • Malaysian citizen aged 28 years old and below.
    • Degree holder with a CGPA of 2.5 and above from any tertiary institution recognized by Jabatan Perkhidmatan Awam (JPA)/Malaysian Qualifications Agency (MQA).
    • Currently unemployed or underemployed.
    • Fluent in both Bahasa Malaysia and English.

    *Priority consideration will be given to applicants from low income families with a household income not exceeding RM3,000 per month.

    What is the duration of GENM-SL1M Graduate Training Programme?

    It is a 12-month programme.

    What does the GENM-SL1M programme offer? What can an unemployed/underemployed graduate look forward to by participating in this programme?

    The programme provides graduate trainees with relevant soft skills and on-the-job placement to enhance their employability and marketability through relevant work exposure and experience. The programme is structured as follows:

    • Communication
    • Creative & analytical thinking
    • Organizational adaptability
    • Grooming & etiquette
    1 month Trainees will attend periodic training as set by the company during the 12 months.
    The training will expose trainees to different soft skill
    competencies useful in their future career.  
    ON-THE-JOB PLACEMENT 11 months Trainees will be attached to a department relevant
    to their degree and/or interest. Trainees will be guided in their function to contribute
    positively and learn as much as they can during their attachment.  

    Will I be paid if I am accepted into the programme?

    Yes. All trainees will receive an allowance of RM1,240 per month (a monthly training allowance of RM1,000 and food allowance of RM240).

    Will I be eligible for any other benefits apart from the allowance?

    Trainees based at Genting Highlands Resort will be entitled to:
    • Free accommodation (shared rooms)
    • Clinical treatment
    • Insurance coverage
    • Access to staff recreation facilities and employee activities all year round
