Two Memorable Evenings Await:
George Benson Set To Charm Fans This October

 

Kuala Lumpur, 28 October 2010 – The icon of jazz, George Benson, is in Kuala Lumpur and is set to entertain his fans during his two special performances while in Malaysia. George Benson will be performing for the Royal Charity Gala on 29 October 2010 (Friday) held in conjunction with the 80th Birthday of the Sultan of Pahang and at Resorts World Genting’s renowned concert venue, the Arena Of Stars on 31 October 2010 (Sunday).

George Benson, who arrived earlier today, began his first hours in Malaysia with a meet-the-fans session and a press conference, held at the prestigious Shangri-La Hotel Kuala Lumpur.

The meet-the-fans session, which was held at The Terrace Lemon Garden, was a special treat for George Benson’s diehard fans. The fans were specially selected through a contest via The Star, New Straits Times and Resorts World Genting’s Facebook. During the session, fans met with the legend of jazz in person, got his autograph plus had their pictures taken with him. Another special surprise was the Lucky Draw session where seven (7) lucky fans won themselves a pair of tickets to watch George Benson perform ‘live’ at the Arena Of Stars, Resorts World Genting on 31 October 2010! Apart from the tickets, a few others brought home George Benson’s latest music CD via the lucky draw.

After the engaging meet-the-fans session, George Benson was taken to a press conference at the hotel’s Penang Room. His arrival at the venue was greeted by Mr. Kevin Sim – Executive Vice President Of Genting Malaysia Berhad (GENM) who brought the entertainer to Malaysia and is also the Main Sponsor of the INTAZ Royal Charity Gala. Also there to greet George Benson were YAM Tengku Puteri Seri Lela Wangsa Pahang, Tengku Tan Sri Hajjah Meriam Binti Sultan Haji Ahmad Shah – Chairman of INTAZ, YAM Tengku Puteri Seri Kemala Pahang, Tengku Dato’ Hajjah Aishah Binti Sultan Haji Ahmad Shah – Chief Executive Officer Of INTAZ and YH Dato’ Nancy Yeoh Ai Suan – INTAZ Board of Directors. During the half hour session with George Benson, he shared his excitement to perform for both the Charity Gala Dinner and at Resorts World Genting’s Arena Of Stars. Members of the media had the chance to ask him questions regarding his career achievements and what to expect during his much-anticipated concerts in Malaysia.

The Royal Charity Gala Dinner presents 100 tables for sponsorship and this would be the major fundraising event of the year for INTAZ. All proceeds from this event will be channeled to INTAZ in support of the ‘special’ children. The aid will be collected from the sales of tables, priced at four categories which are RM50,000, RM30,000, RM20,000 and RM10,000 per table.
