MIS Asia 2009 Best Business Enabler

 

Kuala Lumpur – Genting Malaysia Berhad (formerly known as Resorts World Bhd) overcame eight other finalists to clinch the prestigious MIS Asia 2009 IT Excellence Award Best Business Enabler (Private Sector). This award, organized annually by MIS Asia Magazine, recognized Genting Malaysia’s (GENM) effort to provide excellent customer service via intelligent data as well as their effective marketing campaigns that helps increase customer satisfaction and revenue.

Representing GENM at the annual MIS Asia IT Summit and IT Excellence Award in Singapore was Mr. Thomas Ng, Senior Vice President, eService, eGenting Sdn Bhd. Upon receiving the award, Mr. Thomas Ng said, "We are indeed proud and honoured to be given recognition for our efforts and initiatives in the IT sector. At GENM, we are determined to employ the use of IT in our daily business and help our organization to disseminate information internally and exchange it with our partners, creating new revenue streams and improving customer service.

According to the MIS Asia 2009 IT Excellence Award website, Genting Malaysia’s ‘business intelligence and data warehousing project consolidates various data from diverse business operations to produce the "single version of truth" required for effective decision-making.’ Additionally, the judge’s comment for GENM’s winning business analytics project is that it employed ‘good and relevant use of IT to create tangible and sustainable value using business analytics’.

The regional MIS Asia IT Excellence Awards are highly regarded and specifically recognizes organizations for management excellence in using IT to drive business value and attain business goals. The winners were chosen by an expert panel of five independent judges. These judges took into account issues such as project execution, alignment with business and measurable results.
