The final of the Astro Classic Golden Melody Singing Competition
2010 (Astro CGM 2010) will be held once again at the Arena of Stars
in Resorts World Genting on 21st August 2010. With the unique theme
of “Golden, Brilliant, Glorious!” and tagline “Classic Charm”, this
event will see amateur singers mesmerising the audience with their
melodic vocal skills and stage prowess in singing classic hits. Back
as hosts for this year are Kwok Voon Voon and Kwok Yan Yan (of the
duo Summer Grace), Yang Wei Han and Lim Tiong Piow.
The Astro CGM 2010 provides a platform for senior citizens aged 45
and above to showcase their talents. Winners will walk away with
fabulous prizes worth RM300,000. Formerly known as Astro Veteran
Talent Quest, the competition went through a transformation and was
renamed as Astro Classic Golden Melody Singing Competition in 2005.
It has earned not only positive reviews and ratings amongst the
locally produced programmes but it is also an aspiration for
aspiring veteran singers.
The Astro CGM 2010 airs over Astro AEC (Channel 301) every Saturday
