FAQ: Genting Points and Rewards Points Expiry


1) I do not understand the new points’ expiry scheme. What is it about?
A: Starting 1 June 2012, the expiration of your Genting Points and Rewards Points will be based on your birthday month. If no point-earning activity is recorded in the past 3 years (calculated from the 28th of your birthday month), the balance of accumulated points will automatically expire.
 
2) If I use my points, will the validity period of my points be extended?
A: No, the validity period of your points will only be extended if there is earning of points. Using your points will not extend the validity period.
 
3) Is it true that all my points will expire if I do not meet these criteria?
A: Yes, any balance of accumulated points will automatically expire if you have not met our criteria.
 
4) Will both my accumulated Genting Points and Rewards Points expire at the same time if I do not meet the criteria to either one of the points?
A: Your Genting Points will only expire if there is no earning of Genting Points. It will not affect the validity period of your Rewards Points and vice versa. For your information, Genting Points and Rewards Points are two separate entities.
 
5) Will I be notified when my points are about to expire?
A: Yes, we will notify you via SMS or eNews of any points’ expiry. In order for us to contact you, we would advise you to update your information at any Genting Rewards Centre or i-Kiosk located around the casino area or log on to www.gentingrewards.com.my
  
6) When is the last date for me to use my points if I’ve received such notification?
A:  If you have received a notification on your points’ expiry, please use your points before the 28th of your birthday month.
 
7) Can I request to delay my points’ expiry date or for a refund of my expired points?
A: No. As per the management’s policy, any request to delay the points’ expiry date or refund of points will not be entertained.
 
8) Am I able to transfer my points which are about to expire to my friends and family members?
A: No, all points earned are non-transferrable and non-exchangeable.
 
9) Where can I check my points’ balance and expiry date?
A: You may check your points’ balance and expiry date via our i-Kiosk machines located around the casino area or log on to www.gentingrewards.com.my
