Q: How do I know what is available and how do I apply for the position?
A: To find out what positions are available, bookmark our career site for your reference and do regularly check on our career highlights. We will be posting available positions from time to time. If the position states it’s a “Walk-In Interview”, bring along a copy of your resume and certificates and attend the interview session at the time and location specified in the advertisement. For those positions that you need to write in, click on the “Apply Online” link, look for the available position you wish to apply for and submit your resume for that particular position
   
Q: Do I have to go up to Genting Highland Resorts for the interview?
A: Depends on the position you are applying for. If they are stated as “Walk-in Interviews”, the locations are usually given at a nearby location within each State from 9am – 5pm. If you need to write in, Human Resource department will contact you if your application is successful and they will let you know when and where to meet for your interview.
   
   
Q: How should I dress for the interview? 
A: Please come in formal work attire. Do not show up for your interview dressed too casually with funky hairstyles and colours, ear and nose rings bigger than your key chain rings. Remember you are applying for a job in a corporate world, you need to look the part.
   
   
Q: Can I negotiate my salary?
A: Salary will commensurate according to your level of qualifications and experience.
   
   
   
Q: What kind of life can I expect working up at Genting Highlands?
A: At Genting, all our employees live within a tight community, each individual focused on their specific job function. Depending again on the position you are applying for, some jobs require you to work in shift, while others will be according to the department’s operation hours. You will need to discuss this with your interviewer to get a better picture. As for leisure time, there are many things you can do during your free time. Most of these would be more fun and memorable once you have made some friends up there.
   
   
Q: Will I get my own room up there?
A: Staff levels will usually be living in quad staff quarters, meaning four people to a room. This is also dependent on what type of room configuration you get as we do have rooms designated for two and three people. These are usually given to staff that are more senior.
   
   
Q: What are the biggest problem faced by staff?
A: A large percentage of our staff’s problems is related to customer service when they have to deal with difficult customers. This is why we don’t recommend for employees to harbor any ill feelings inside as it will only cause unnecessary stress. Share your experience with your colleagues and management team as these people are there to help you. Also bear in mind this is a good opportunity to excel as everyone needs to learn how to cope with such stress sooner or later.
   
   
Q: I hear people say there is no life at Genting. Its all work, work work?
A: Again this is very dependant on the individual. We have over 7,000 employees up at Genting and only a handful complains about this. Its entirely up to you how you want to create excitement in your life.
   
   
Q: What is expected from me to get the job?
A: Our service level expects the highest standard from everyone hence we want only the best from you. This is to emulate the professional quality our organisation offers to all our customers. We want individuals who are pleasant, courteous, industrious and posses a high level of integrity and reliability.
   
   
Q: How can I enhance my career growth?
A: You will need to perform and deliver results in whichever position you have applied for. You will also be expected to be a team player and be punctual for work.
   
   
Q: Can I transfer midway to another department? 
A: Only after you are confirmed you can put in a request for transfer.
   
   
Q: How many days off do I get?
A: You will have 4 days off in a month when you work up at Genting. The off days follow a pre-set arranged schedule of which you will be informed in advance by your department.
   
   
Q: What will happen to me if I don’t fulfill my KPI?
A: We hope this doesn’t happen as it may effect your increment, bonus and whatever incentive you may have. If you are not yet confirmed, your probation period will be extended. If you are a confirmed staff, your management team may want to work more closely with you to encourage improvements.
   
   
Q: Can staff have relationships within the same department?
A: We do not have a policy on this but generally it is allowed as long as it does not effect your work. 
   
Q: What are my benefits?
A: Staff in general will have free accommodation but if you are working in the Casino, you will also receive a meal allowance called duty meals. Other benefits includes a work environment free from traffic jams, free clinical and dental treatments, free laundry service for working uniforms, staff recreation centre/stadium and other facilities, site library, hot spot with 24 hours Wi-Fi, staff’s lounge with Astro service and employees cafeterias. All staff will also need to undergo various training and development programmes.
   
   
Q: What can we do for recreation up at Genting?
A: We have Sports and recreational fitness facilities such as the gymnasium with basic equipments (e.g. treadmills, weight equipments, etc.) at the Staff Recreation Centre in RSC 2. Apart from the RSC 2, there is a mini gym at the Executives Club. You may also opt for a fee-based gym located near the GICC Business Centre, First World Hotel. Besides the gym facilities, members get to enjoy the sauna room, steam-bath, and best of all, a good gym instructor.
   
Q: Do we need to wear uniform for work?
A: Yes, executives based up at Genting must be properly attired in office during working hours to promote the company's professionalism and efficiency, and to reflect our tradition and multi-cultural heritage. Depending on the work requirements, some executives based up at Genting are entitled to an executive suit each.. 
   
   
Q: Where can staff park their vehicles at Genting?
A: All executives based at Resorts World Genting are required to park their motor vehicles at the designated parking areas located only in Car Park 5, First World Hotel at Level 7, 7A, 8B, 8A, 8, 9A and 9 with motorcycle parking bays at Level 7. Other designated parking bays are located at the respective RSC compounds. Specific parking bays in RSC 8 has been allotted as VPs / AVPs parking areas. Parking in RWG is generally free. 
   
   
Q: What is a buddy and must we have a buddy?
A: All new executives will have a buddy assigned to them right on the first day of reporting. Buddying is one of Human Resource’s initiatives to help new recruits familiarise with the overall resort operations and to help them assimilate inside the company in general. It helps to create an informal relationship and to show new colleagues all the essentials of working up at RWG.
   
Q: Do I get a discount for International shows and concerts ticket?
A: Yes. employees enjoys a 10% ticket discount. You will need to purchase your ticket at the respective Genting Box Office. Please bring along your employee ID card. Please note that this benefit is subject to terms and conditions an management reserves the right to withdraw the discount at any time without prior notice.
   
   
Q: Are there any Banks and post offices up at the Resort? 
A: Yes there are. Maybank and CIMB outlets are located at Genting Hotel while Public Bank branch office is located at the First World Hotel. If you need to renew your driving license, pay bills, etc. the Post Office is just a shop away from the Maybank branch on level G, Genting Hotel.
   
   
Q: Do staff get discounts from the retailers at Genting?
A: In general, most of the third party retailers offer discounts to GENM employees. We recommend that you bring along your employee ID card and check with the retail outlet manager/staff before you make any payment. Also, the Annual Sales for GENM employees, held between March/April, offers great discounts of up to 70% on various products.
   
   
Q: What are some of the Management Recognitions for staff?
A: There are numerous awards and recognitions for employee with best practice. We have the Model Employee Of The Month Award, Long Service Awards, WeXL, etc.
